Solution

In the presence of Cu(II) catalyst, hydrogen peroxide oxidises hydrazine to nitrogen. The reaction is highly exothermic and is accompanied by large increase in volume. Therefore, the mixture provides an upward thrust and is used as a rocket fuel.
