The graphite is an allotropic form of carbon that consists of atoms of carbon. On the basis of hybridization there 3 strong bonds are forming in the same plane and a weaker bond perpendicular to that plane. This allows that carbon arranges in parallel "sheets" that slide on each other.
The graphite has high lubricant performance and slippery property. Thus the graphite used in pencils is slippery in nature and each graphite sheet slides on the paper surface when we write on it. This result has shown as writing characters.
