State whether true or false:
Antibodies produced by B cells can attack both extracellular and intracellular pathogens.
True
Antibodies that are produced by the B cells, circulate in the bloodstream and are able to encounter any pathogen that they find in the bloodstream. These pathogens could be detected by these antibodies even if they were potentially intracellular. In simpler words, a potentially intracellular pathogen that is currently just in the bloodstream could be detected by the antibodies. Some such viruses and parasites enter the cells. The antibodies would not able to find these pathogens if they were inside the human cell. Once inside the cell, the pathogen can be eliminated only through cell-mediated immunity.
