With the increase in distance of the planet from the sun, the cube of semi major axis of its orbit increases.
By kepler's laws, it is directly proportional to the square of period of the planet.
Thus with the distance of the planet from the sun increases, the period of revolution cannot decrease, but, in fact increases.
