A Pronoun is a word or phrase used in place of a noun. A Pronoun must always agree with its antecedent (the noun or pronoun it refers back to) in Person, Number and Gender. This is called pronoun-antecedent agreement. In the above sentence the number form of the pronoun and antecedent do not agree. The antecedent 'citizen' is singular, but the pronoun 'their' is plural. One way to resolve this disagreement, is to make the plural 'their' to a singular pronoun, 'his or her'. Therefore, the sentence will read: Every citizen should use his or her right to vote.
