The object while speeding up can have positive acceleration.

The acceleration is defined as the rate of change of velocity.

Since the object is speeding up so the change in the velocity is in same direction as that of the acceleration

$a = \frac{v_{f} - v_{i}}{t}$

$v_{f} > v_{i}$

Then $a > 0$

So, it is possible to have positive acceleration while speeding up.
