Solution

(i) Sulphur dioxide is acidic in nature. Therefore, it will turn blue litmus red.
(ii) No colour change is observed when dry red rose petals are placed in a jar of sulphur dioxide.
(iii) Paper soaked in potassium permanganate solution becomes colourless when introduced into a gas jar of sulphur dioxide. Potassium permanganate solution act as an oxidising agent. It oxidises sulphur dioxide to sulphuric acid and itself get reduced to manganese sulphate. The colour of the solution change from purple to colourless.
