(i) When excess sodium hydroxide solution $\left(\mathrm{NaOH}\right)$ is added to calcium nitrate $\left(\mathrm{Ca}{\left({\mathrm{NO}}_3\right)}_2\right)$,then a white colored precipitate of calcium hydroxide $\left(\mathrm{Ca}{\left(\mathrm{OH}\right)}_2\right)$ is formed.

The chemical reaction for the same is shown below.

$\mathrm{Ca}{\left({\mathrm{NO}}_3\right)}_2\left(\mathrm{aq}\right)+2\mathrm{NaOH}\left(\mathrm{aq}\right)\to \mathrm{Ca}{\left(\mathrm{OH}\right)}_2\downarrow +2{\mathrm{NaNO}}_3\left(\mathrm{aq}\right)$

This precipitate is insoluble in excess sodium hydroxide.
