(i) When excess sodium hydroxide solution (NaOH) is added to calcium nitrate (Ca(NO3)2),then a white colored precipitate of calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) is formed.

The chemical reaction for the same is shown below.

Ca(NO3)2(aq)+2NaOH(aq)Ca(OH)2+2NaNO3(aq)

This precipitate is insoluble in excess sodium hydroxide.
