Aqueous solution of ferrous sulphate is treated with sodium hydroxide

The following reaction can be termed as a double displacement reaction. Here Na(sodium) being highly reactive displaces FeSO4 from its solution. Thus, a dull green precipitate is obtained as follows:
NaOH + FeSO4 => Na2SO4 + Fe(OH)2
