Solution
i) When washing soda (Na2CO3 .10H2O) are exposed to air, they lose nine molecules of water of crystallization and form a monohydrate. Na2CO3 .10H2O --> Na2CO3 .H2O +9H2O
ii) It absorbs moisture from the atmosphere to become moist and ultimately dissolves in the absorbed water, forming a saturated solution.
