Diamond is the hardest allotrope of carbon. The thermal conductivity of natural diamond is around 22 W/(cm.K) which makes the diamond five times better at conducting heat than copper[which has a thermal conductivity of 386 W/(cm.K)]. Thus using thermal conductivity we can identify fake diamonds.
