As a result, gases such as sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide are present in large extent. These gases dissolve in rainwater and reach the earth surface as acid rain. As a result, the marble used in the construction of Taj Mahal is fading away. The acid rain corrodes the marble and results in the fading.
