Statement 1: It is necessary to keep a Barometer under the open sky to get the reading of atmospheric pressure.
Statement 2: Under a roof, the Barometer will give zero reading.
Both the statements are incorrect
A barometer measures the atmospheric pressure and is not affected by any obstruction around it. It consists of a glass tube closed at one end immersed in a container filled with mercury. A scientist named Torricelli discovered that the change in the level of mercury in the tube is due to the change in atmospheric pressure. Atmospheric pressure near to the earth's surface is 1 atm, whether it is inside a room or at the rooftop. So the reading of barometer will also be corresponding to 1 atm only. So, here both the statements are wrong.
