Solution

The correct option is A Statement 1 is true and statement 2 is false.
In the feud between the Tara clan and the Yoritomo clan, Minamota no Yoritomo emerged as the winner. In 1192 CE, the emperor of Japan gave Minamota the title of Sei-i-tai-Shogun, or simply, Shogun, which translates to ‘the Barbarian subduing-Great-General.’ This title came with a lot of power. The emperor also granted Minamoto the power to govern hereditarily. This was how the rule of Shogunate began in Japan.
