Ohmic resistors obey ohm's law i.e. V is directly proportional to R, so the V-I curve is linear for them and non-linear for non-ohmic resistances. Ohm's law is not a universal law because it is not valid for every conducting material present. This is the reason for classification of resistors as ohmic and non-ohmic.
