The correct option is C Statements 1 is true and statement 2 is false
When we draw a line left to right then the tip of pen move left to right also but the friction always oppose relative motion so it will oppose the tip to move left to right
but it can't stop the tip as we force the tip but the the ink get stuck on the paper.
As the paper apply a force right to left to oppose the rightward motion of tip so the tip will apply a friction
from left to right on the paper.
When we climb over a rope then it is the friction which support our motion against slipping.
so option C is correct.
