Solution

The correct option is C Statement a is correct but statement b is wrong
The colleterial glands of insects are organs associated with the female genital apparatus. In cockroaches, these glands produce secretions that cover two parallel rows of eggs during oviposition, and in oviparous species, these secretions become the tanned, sculpted, rigid outer casing of the ootheca.
Hemimetabolous or incomplete metamorphosis: The insects which attain adult forms by gradual morphological change with successive moults are called incomplete metamorphosis or hemimetabolous development. This type of metamorphosis is seen in insects like butterflies, moths, beetles, ants, etc.
So, the first statement that the secretion of colleterial gland forms the egg case in Cockroach is correct while the second statement saying The development of Cockroach is hemimetabolous is incorrect and the first and the second statements are not related to each other.
Hence, the correct option is 'C'.
