When the cells are connected in a circuit in such a way that all the positive terminals of the cells are connected together and all the negative terminals are connected together, they are said to be in a parallel connection. And while doing so, each cell in a parallel connection has its own complete circuit. Here, two circuits are formed. Therefore, in parallel circuit, the electricity has more than one path to flow through.
Bulbs in two circuits- one having single cell and another having two cells connected parallelly- will glow with the same brightness as each cell has its seperate circuit. And a bulb in the circuit where cells are connected parallelly will last longer than that in circuit where only one cell is present.

Therefore, both statements are correct.
