Pressure and volume are inversely related. When the pressure is increased on a confined sample of gas, its volume will definitely decrease.
Kinetic energy of gas molecules depends on the velocity of the molecules. Because kinetic energy can be expressed as 12 mv2 , where 'v' is the velocity of the gas molecules. As the gas molecules move slowly, velocity of the molecules decreases and the kinetic energy of the gas also decreases.
