The chemical property of an element depends on the number of valence electrons. Isotopes of an element have the same number of valence electrons and thus similar chemical properties.
On the other hand, physical properties are based on the atomic mass of the element which is different in the case of isotopes. This is because they have different masses due to the difference in the number of neutrons.

Number of nucleons = Number of protons + Number of neutrons
As isotopes have different numbers of neutrons, they have different numbers of nucleons.

C-12 and C-14 are an example of isotopes of carbon, therefore, the chemical properties of both these elements will be similar.
