Silk is an animal fibre obtained from the cocoon of silkworm, made of proteins. Once the caterpillars are fully grown, they move their head in figure of eight pattern to spin the cocoon around them. The secretion that is produced by the silkworm during this process hardens to form cocoon, when exposed to air.
