Uremia is the accumulation of urea in blood. Urea accumulation in blood occurs due to malfunctioning of the kidneys. Uremia can lead to fluid, electrolyte and hormonal imbalances in the body. Patients having uremia can undergo hemodialysis to remove urea from blood.
Nephrons are the functional and structural unit of kidneys. Each nephron has the glomerulus and the renal tubule. Glomerulonephritis is the condition in which glomerulus of nephrons is damaged due to inflammation. Glomerulonephritis may occur due to various reasons such as attack of the immune system on healthy kidney cells, HIV infections, hepatitis B and hepatitis C.
Hence we can say that both the statements are true, but statement II is not the reason behind statement I.
