Statement (SI): Polar heads of lipid molecules are towards outer side.
Statement (SII): The non-polar tails of lipid molecules are hydrophobic and present towards the outer side

Solution

Each lipid molecule contains two parts; a head and a tail. The head is polar and hydrophilic ( Water loving) and the tail is non-polar and hydrophobic( Water hating). In the plasma membrane, made up of phospholipid bilayer and protein, the polar hydrophilic head lies outside and the Non-polar hydrophobic tail is inside. So statement 1 is correct but statement 2 is wrong. Option3 is correct.
