The correct option is B Statement 1 and 2 are correct and statement 2 is the correct reason for statement 1.

In myopia, the eye lens becomes too convex i.e. it's converging power increases. It is because of more convergence produced by the eye lens that the rays start meeting before retina. Therefore, to decrease convergence a diverging lens called concave lens of appropriate power is used so that rays meet on the retina for the formation of image.
