Solution

The correct option is A Use of non polluting Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) only as fuel by all buses and trucks.
CNG emits significantly fewer pollutants e.g., carbon dioxide (CO2), unburned hydrocarbons (UHC), carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur oxides (SOx) and PM (particulate matter) than petrol. Due to lower carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides emissions, switching to CNG can help mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. The government of India took appropriate measures switching over the entire fleet of public transport, i.e. buses, from diesel to compressed natural gas (CNG). All the buses of Delhi were converted to run on CNG by the end of 2002.
Therefore, the correct answer is option A.
