Stomata: Transpiration:: Hydathodes: Guttation
Transpiration is the process of water movement through a plant and its evaporation from aerial parts, such as leaves, stems and flowers. The water, warmed by the sun, turns into vapour (evaporates), and passes out through thousands of tiny pores (stomata) mostly on the underside of the leaf surface. The secretion of droplets of water from the pores of plants is called guttation. It takes place due to excess of water present in the soil during night time through leaves. The openings on leaves which allow excess water to exude in the form of water droplets are called hydathodes.
