Solution

The correct option is D Guard cells
In most of the plants stomata are surrounded by kidney bean shaped guard cells. The opening and closing of stomatal pore is regulated by turgidity of guard cells. Absorption of water by guard cells makes them turgid. When guard cells become turgid the stomatal pore opens. When guard cells lose turgidity their inner wall collapses and the stomatal pore closes down.
