Hydrolysis of R2SiCl2 gives straight chain that is linear silicones.
For example, if we consider R as CH3 group, the molecule becomes (CH3)2SiCl2, that is Dimethyldichlorosilane. On performing hydrolysis of this compound, we get.
n(CH3)2SiCl2+nH2O=[(CH3)2SiO]n+2nHCl, where n represents an integer or the number of moles.
