We know that acceleration due to gravity is related with the radius of the as, g = G MR2----1When R becomes 2R then, g' = GM4R2=g4---2Now the body which weighed W=mg on the surface of earth now has weight, W' = mg' = m×g4=W4.i. e. the body now has weight 1/4 of the previous case.
