Describe the features of laterite soil

The features of laterite soil are as follows:-

1. Laterite soil are found in areas with high temperature and heavy rainfall.
2. Laterite soil is rich in iron and aluminum.
3. The humus content in laterite soil is low because most of the micro organisms, specially the decomposer like bacteria, get destroyed due to high temperature.
4. Laterite soil can be made suitable for growing crops with addition of adequate doses of manures and fertilizers.
5. Laterite soil are mainly found in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, etc.
