In the Chipko Movement which tree was protected mainly?

Dear student.

The name of the tree is ​Khejri tree after a mother and her three young daughters died to protect the sacred trees in ​Khejarli village of Rajasthan. This inspired the Chipko Movement. Though there are a number of trees which later on was protected under Chipko Movement.
