1st quadrant that has coordinates P(a,a2) also lies on l, what is the value of a?

Solution

Dear student,
As the new line is parallel to 4y-3x=8 and so slope of the line will be same. So eqn. Of new line: 4y-3x=c
As, it passes through origin, we get c=0
Therefore, eqn. Of new line: 4y-3x=0
Assuming the given point be (a,a2 )
So, 4a2-3a=0
=> a(4a-3)=0
Therefore, a=0 or 3/4
