τ=Frcosθ

Torque due to the force about lower end:

τ1=402-0.4cos300 =40×1.6×cos300 =55.4 N.m

Torque due to the force about upper end:

τ2=400.4cos300 =40×0.4×cos300 =13.9 N.m
