  • Propanone is otherwise called acetone is a hydrocarbon that contains a ketone group(CII=O)
  • Acetone has 3 carbon atoms 1 oxygen atom and 6 hydrogen atoms and has a molecular formula of C3H6O.
  • The central carbon atom is attached to an oxygen atom via a double bond, which forms the keto group.
  • And on both sides of the central carbon atom, a methyl group(-CH3) is attached
