  • The human skin is the outer covering of the body. It is continuous with the mucous membrane in the region of mouth, nose, urogenital organs and anus.
  • They are 3 layers of skin: epidermis, dermis and hypodermis.
  • Epidermis consists of stratum corneum, stratum granulosa, stratum spinosum and stratum basale.
  • The cells of the skin are melanocytes, keratinocytes, Langerhans cells and Merkel's cell.
  • The skin consists of appendages which are hair, sebaceous gland, sweat glands an nails.
