Solution

Answer
  • Pancreas is referred to as an exo endocrine gland as it has both endocrine and exocrine cells.
  • As an exocrine/duct gland, the pancreas secretes pancreatic juice into the duodenum for digestion.
  • As an endocrine/ductless gland, the pancreas has special groups of hormone-secreting cells called the Islets of Langerhans.
  • These cells produce three hormones - insulin, glucagon, and somatostatin.
