Q13. The expenditure of company B in 1996 and 1997 is 12 lakh and 14.5 lakh, respectively. What was the total income of the company B in 1996 and 1997 together?
(b) 37.95 lakh
In 1996, profit by company B =
[Income−expenditure/expenditure]×100Or 35=[Income−12/12]×100
Or, (income – 12) = 12 x 35/100
Or, income = 16.2 lakh
Similarly, income in 1997 = 14.5 x 1.5 = 21.75 lakh.
Therefore, total income of 1996 and 1997 together = (16.2 + 21.75) lakh = 37.95 lakh
