(b) The two effects of acid rain are:

• They increase the acidity of the soil and destroy forest and crops.
• They corrode the monuments and building.

(c) Burning of fossil fuels like coal, petrol, etc. produces $S{O}_2,N{O}_x$. It combines with water in the atmosphere and forms sulphuric acid and falls as acid rain.
