The initial velocity of the police jeep w.r.t thief's motorcycle,
upt=up-ut=-25ms-1up=0initially
Acceleration of police jeep w.r.t thief's motorcycle,
apt=ap-at=2ms-2

Step 2: Solution

Using, s=ut+12at2,

Here s is displacement and u is initial velocity and a is acceleration andt is time.

we get1250=-25t+t2
ort2-25t-1250=0
or t=50s,-25s
but time cannot be-ve,

t=50s
