Solution

The correct option is A II and IV
In group I, gold chain is malleable, aluminium container is hard but sodium is a soft metal that can be cut with a knife and phosphorus does not possess shine and is non-lustrous.Therefore, materials in group I are not correctly arranged.
In group II, aluminium is a malleable metal, gold chain is a hard material, zinc rod is indeed lustrous and silver bar exhibits sonority. All of these observations are accurate. Therefore, materials in group II are correctly arranged.
In group III, iron rod is sonorous , zinc is not malleable, sulphur powder is non-lustrous and charcoal is not hard. Therefore, materials in group III are not correctly arranged.
In group IV, the platinum ring is malleable, iron rod is a hard material, iodine, which is a non-metal and thus exception to lustre property, is indeed lustrous and a copper vessel does exhibit sonority. Therefore, materials in group IV are correctly arranged.
Groups II and IV are the only ones that are correctly matched. Thus, option C is the right answer.
