The given tally chart shows the number of children that like each subject.
Using the whiteboard, tell the student that each
means 1 and each
means 5.
On reading the data,
Math =5+1=6
Reading =2
Science =2
To find how many more children chose math than reading, we will subtract the number of children that like reading, i.e., 2 from the number of children that like math, i.e., 6.
So, 62=4
