Isotopes are atoms of same element with same number of protons and electrons but different number of neutrons.
They have same atomic number but different mass number.
For example, chlorine has two isotopes with mass numbers 35 and 37 respectively. They have atomic number of 17 each. Both have 17 protons and 17 electrons each. One isotope has 18 neutrons and other isotope has 20 neutrons.
