$(2 y^{3} + x^{2}) - (x^{3} + 2 y^{2})$
$= 2 y^{3} + x^{2} - x^{3} - 2 y^{2}$
$= (2 y^{3} - 2 y^{2}) + (x^{2} - x^{3})$
$= 2 y^{2} (y - 1) - x^{2} (x - 1)$
Hence the correct answer is $2 y^{2} (y - 1) - x^{2} (x - 1)$ .
