Subtract $8\frac{1}{3}from\frac{100}{9}$.

As per the question

We have to find $\frac{100}{9}-8\frac{1}{3}$

Now, $8\frac{1}{3}=\frac{8\times 3+1}{3}=\frac{25}{3}$

Now, $\frac{100}{9}$ and $\frac{25}{3}$ are unlike fractions because their denominators are different.

The LCM of the denominators of $\frac{100}{9}$ and $\frac{25}{3}$ i.e. the LCM of 9 and 3 is 9.

$\therefore \frac{100}{9}-\frac{25}{3}=\frac{100-25\times 3}{9}=\frac{100-75}{9}=\frac{25}{9}=2\frac{7}{9}$
