Step 1 : Write the subtrahend ( I.e., the algebraic expression to be subtracted)
below the minuend ( I.e., the expression from which the subtrahend is to be subtracted ) such that the like terms are in the same column.
$7 x + 5 y + 9 z + 2 x - 3 y + 4 z$
Step 2 : Change the sign of each term of subtrahend .
$7 x + 5 y + 9 z + 2 x - 3 y + 4 z - + -$
Step 3 : Add the two algebraic expressions.
$7 x + 5 y + 9 z + 2 x - 3 y + 4 z - + -5 x + 8 y + 5 z$
Hence , $5 x + 8 y + 5 z$ is the difference between the given algebraic expressions
