Dear Student
1) Multiple Ovulation Embryo Transfer Technology (MOET) is one method by which cattle herd can be improved and strengthened
2) In this method, a cow is administered hormones (FSH) which improves follicular maturation and it enables the breed to produce 6 – 8 eggs at a time instead of one egg which is the case of normal yielding cycle
3) The breed is artificially mated and the fertilized eggs pass over 8 – 12 stages
4) They are then transferred to surrogate females through non – surgical methods. This technology is demonstrated on cattle, sheep, rabbits, buffaloes, etc
5) By this method and technology, high milk yielding breeds of females and high meat yielding bulls are successfully bred and this has enabled to increase the size of herd in a short period of time
