Free radical chlorination of cyclopentane in presence of light gives cyclopentyl chloride. Dehydrochlorination with alcoholic $K O H$ gives cyclopentene. Chlorination with chlorine in presence of carbon tetrachloride gives trans 1,2-dichlorocyclopentane.
