The froth floatation method is used for the concentration of the ores mainly sulphide ores.
It is based on the preferential wetting properties of the ore with oil and gangue particles with water.
Sulphide ores are light and are easily wetted by oil during the froth floatation process, leaving behind heavy gangue particles.
