Solution

Understanding the concept:

  • Sulphuric acid is the strongest acid, its chemical formula is H2SO4.
  • It is also called the king of chemicals because it is widely used in industries.

Explanation not to use carbon sulphuric acid:

  • Calcium carbonate reacts with dilute sulphuric acid.
  • However, it is not used in laboratories because the calcium sulfate formed during the reaction is water-insoluble.
  • It stops the reaction by covering it with marble fragments or chips.
  • In other words:
  • Because calcium sulfate is only sparingly soluble, it settles on marble chips and stops the process. The reaction is given as follows;
  • CaCO3(s)+H2SO4(l)CaSO4(s)+H2O(g)+CO2(g)Precipitateformation
