Sol:
Let the present age of the son and the father be x and y respectively.

Case (i)
Sum of the ages of father and son is 55 years
⇒ x + y = 55 --------- (1)
Difference between their ages = (y - x) years.

Case (ii)
Age of the son = x + (y - x) = y
Age of the father = y + (y - x) = 2y - x
(2y - x) + y = 93
3y - x = 93 ---------- (2)

Solving equations (1) and (2), we get y = 37 and x = 18.

Therefore, present age of the son is 18 years and the present age of the father is 37 years.
